The history of this art Deco building, designed by Henry Hohauser, and its relationship with the rest of Miami Beach was the inspiration, when ideating the design.
One of the most special things about the Carlton is that with over 70 rooms, so few have the same layout, configuration and dimensions. By creating similar, yet slightly different spaces, each room has its own unique touch which helps keep the design rich and alive.
White washed Oak is the material selected for beds, night tables and freestanding desks, complemented by white paint grade built-in millwork for bookshelves and niches.
That color is brought back through the raffia covered ceilings and the Sisal area rugs atop of the walnut floors. Desk chairs and reading chairs are a mix of white and ocean blue tones; as well as the throws on the bed while accent pillows will be bringing in some other colors like corals and greens, to capture the natural element of South Beach.
