Approach
A philosophy in four movements
Design, for me, is felt before it is understood. It begins with proportion, material, light and the experience of a space.

Proportion and repetition create a quiet sense of order. I use rhythm to bring coherence to a space without making it predictable.
I look for the connections between architecture, material and the people who inhabit a space.
The most successful interiors feel personal rather than designed. They reflect the character, memories and way of life of those who inhabit them.
Materials, light and detail give a space its identity. I believe restraint and precision allow that character to emerge.
I believe that all designers love to leave a signature, whether it is a building, interior, installation or urban structure. I love for people that see my designs to remember their experience as comfortable and soothing, speaking to their soul, and possibly thinking that the designer must be a happy person!
